BOSTON (NEWS CENTER) - Current Boston Bruin and former Portland Pirates forward Shawn Thornton has decided he won't appeal his 15-game suspension to an independent arbitrator.

Thornton, who's cheap shot concussed Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik on December 7th, has already sat out 10 of the 15 games and will be eligible to return January 11th at San Jose.

Orpik returned to game action last Friday after missing nearly three weeks of game action.
