PARK CITY, Utah (NEWS CENTER)-- Bethel native Simon Dumont's hopes of skiing in the Sochi Winter Olympics have hit a major road block.

It was reported that Dumont was scratched from yesterday's skiing halfpipe qualifier and went to the hospital. No updates on his condition have been released, but Dumont tweeted on Thursday that his ankle was sore, a possible flare up of the broken ankle he suffered last summer.

Missing the qualifier means the only way Dumont can make the olympic team is through a discretionary pick by the U.S. team coaches.
