Home grown talent helps UMaine softball team succeed

ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Even though the UMaine softball team is halfway through its season, the Black Bears will be playing their home opener on Friday.

Maine is a respectable 13-11 overall and 5-3 in conference play. This year's team has five Mainers on it, and they have had a great impact on the teams success so far. Fryeburg's Hannah Hill pitched a shut out last weekend at Albany to help the Black Bears beat the Great Danes for the first time in 13 tries. Skowhegan's Shelby Obert and South Portland's Alexis Bogdanovich have also chipped in this season, receiving America East accolades.
