Patriots' Vereen discusses "Draft Day" jitters

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - New England Patriots running back may have been drafted three years ago, but it's an experience he won't forget anytime soon.

The second-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft (number 56 overall) experienced the proverbial roller coaster that many NFL hopefuls go through as they wait for their name to be selected.

"It was nerve-wracking and then it was, you know, the biggest breath of fresh air that you could ever imagine. It was a awesome. It was an aweseom time. It was pretty, pretty nerve-wracking prior," he said.

The California alum will be paying extra attention this year's draft as his younger brother Brock,a defensive back out of Minnesota, is projected to be a mid-round pick.

Vereen was in Portland for a promotional appearance at Hadlock Field for the Sea Dogs game against New Hampshire.
