Sea Dogs four-game win streak snapped by New Britain

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The streaking Sea Dogs had their string of four straight wins snapped by New Britain in what was Portland's first loss at Hadlock Field in 2014.

After averaging nine runs in their first three games against the Rock Cats, the Sea Dogs were limited to only five hits in a 6-3 loss. Shortstop Derek Gibson had three of those hits as he went 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Leadoff hitter Mookie Betts doubled, drove in a run, and scored as well. He reached base safely for the 39th straight game dating back to last season.

MIke McCarthy (0-2) took the loss for Portland. The Sea Dogs starter gave up three runs on five hits and a walk.

Portland (6-4) will start a three-game series with Binghamton on Monday.
