(NEWS CENTER) -- From the Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California to the eight-alarm fire in Boston, Banjo offers an all-access pass to events, conferences and concerts around the world.
Ban.jo curates social media by time, location and context. Geotagged public tweets and Instagrams can appear in the timeline for a specific event. Recent trending events include the Elton John Las Vegas Concert, the Pennsylvania High School Stabbing and the Royal Family visiting New Zealand. The creators say it is an all-access pass to anything, anywhere.
There are creepier aspects to the app. Users can search by locations and see all geotagged, public social media posts, not necessarily related to an event. To check privacy settings on the iPhone, go to settings, then privacy and then location services. It is possible to toggle location geotagging between different applications. For some applications, like Twitter, location services can be changed within the app itself.
The app is free and available for download for Apple and Android.
