BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Beer lovers gathered at the Bangor Waterfront today for the Bangor Beer Festival.
People from Maine to California came to tap into summer with the local flavor of Maine-made beer. Participants sampled up to 10 beers from 24 Maine breweries. All different kinds of beer were available for tasting. Those who attended say it's the local flare that sets this beer festival apart from others.
"What I think is so great is that it is very local, and at this festival all the brewers are actually here so you can ask questions about the beer and see the people that are really brewing what you're drinking," says California resident, Merideth Canham-Nelson.
Canham-Nelson and her husband were keynote speakers at last year's Beer Festival. They enjoyed themselves so much that that came back this year as attendants.
