AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine's heron population seems to be declining. Biologist Danielle D'Auria of Maine's Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is charged with finding out why. She has lots of theories.

D'Auria is five years into a study. She is attempting to plot every heron nest in Maine. The call is out for volunteers to help in this project.
