Newberry Honor and National Book Award-winning author Phillip Hoose tells the story of one bird's strength, adaptability and determination in "Moonbird: A Year on the Wind With the Great Survivor B95." B95 is a robin-sized shorebird that flies from Argentina to his breeding grounds in the Canadian Arctic and then back again every year. Scientists have been tracking the bird for 18 years.

Phillip Hoose will tell the story of B95 when he discusses "Moonbird" at an Author Talk at the Portland Public Library on Thursday, September 27th at 6:00 PM.
