Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed cornerback Terence Newman to an undisclosed contract.
Newman was a free agent after playing the 2012 season with Cincinnati. He posted 75 tackles and two interceptions in 15 games last year.
"Terence has always had great talent, and he's become a smarter player every year of his career," said Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer in a statement Monday. "He sees things well and he challenges receivers. He's tough. He takes care of his body and doesn't miss reps. He's the kind of guy we want back as we work to keep our defense together."
Newman spent his first nine NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and has 34 career interceptions with two sacks, eight forced fumbles and 10 fumble recoveries in 148 games.
