TEXAS CITY, Texas (KPRC) -- Parents of elementary students in Texas' Alvin Independent School District worry about their children's safety after a student on a bus was carrying a deactivated grenade on Wednesday.
"It's scary to just send your children to school now," said M. Coronado. "My daughter, one of her little best friends, the little girl was crying."
The student was riding to Don Jeter Elementary School in Rosharon when another student noticed he was carrying a grenade.
"When the student notified the bus driver as they should have, they took all precautions to ensure security and safety," said Daniel Combs, the communications director for the Alvin ISD. "They removed the students from the bus."
