Carlsbad, CA (Sports Network) - Former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova was an easy second-round winner Wednesday at the $795,000 Southern California Open.

The third-seeded Czech slugger, coming off an opening-round bye, whipped British fellow left-hander Laura Robson 6-1, 6-2 on the hardcourts at La Costa Resort and Spa.

The 2013 Carlsbad titlist will claim $125,000.
