MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KPRC) -- A human case of West Nile virus has been confirmed in Montgomery County, Texas.

It's one of ten human cases in Texas so far this year, and the first in the Houston area.

In 2012, nearly 2,000 Texans contracted the potentially deadly virus from mosquitoes.

The health department said a 48-year-old man is being treated for the mosquito-borne illness.
