ORONO, Maine (AP) - Maine State Police say a woman is accused of driving into a utility pole in Orono, then heading the wrong way on Interstate 95 and crashing into a police cruiser, setting it on fire.

Police arrested 22-year-old McKenzie Kaphammer of Corinth on Thursday night on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol; aggravated criminal mischief, and other charges.

Trooper Christopher Hashey tried to stop the car, which was heading north in the southbound lane of I-95, by driving parallel to it. He got ahead of the car in Old Town and then got out of his cruiser, leaving it to block the car.

Kaphammer crashed into the cruiser, setting off a fire under its hood.

Kaphammer was treated at a hospital and released. Hashey wasn't hurt.
