PHOENIX, Arizona (KPNX) -- Hundreds gathered to pay their respects to men who fought for our freedoms in Phoenix, Arizona Tuesday morning as 36 military veterans who served in conflicts spanning from World War One to Vietnam were laid to rest.

Their remains had remained unclaimed for decades.

That changed thanks to the work of the Missing in America Project, a national veterans organization founded with the of identifying the cremated remains of forgotten veterans and making funeral arrangements.
