ISLE AU HAUT, Maine (AP) - The Coast Guard says a kayaker who was feared missing near the coast of Maine has been found safe.

The guard began its search earlier Friday after Matt Grabowski missed his scheduled check-in call with his friend's father on Thursday.

The Coast Guard says Grabowski told them his cell phone and radio had run out of power so he was unable to make the call.

Grabowski, who is on a several-day kayaking and camping trip, was spotted by a helicopter crew while kayaking between Stinson Neck and Sheep Island near Stonington, Maine.
