(NEWS CENTER) - On election day Maine voters will get to decide on Question Four, which seeks funding for Maine Maritime Academy.

Alumni kicked off their campaign Thursday in favor of the $4.5 million bond to build a new building on campus. According to MMA Alumni, a new building has not been added to the campus in more than thirty years.

They say this building is needed to keep up with increasing enrollment rates and keep their students up to date with industry standards.

The Academy also received a one-point-four million dollar grant from the US Department of Transportation. That money will be used on research in energy efficiency and emission reductions.
