Commerce City, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colorado Rapids announced Tuesday that the club has re-signed veteran midfielder Brian Mullan to a new contract. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Brian is exactly the type of player that you want on your team, since he gives everything he has on the field and is a great professional off of it," said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. "As a true great in MLS and one of the very best players that Colorado has ever produced, we're proud to have him on the Rapids, and excited that he'll be returning for this season."
Mullan, a five-time MLS Cup champion, came to the Rapids at the trade deadline in 2010 and helped Colorado to its first-ever MLS Cup title just two months later.
The 35-year-old broke into the league in 2001 with the Los Angeles Galaxy and has also enjoyed stints with the San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo.
