PORTLAND, ME (NEWS CENTER)-- The Paralympic Games begin in Sochi this week and Maine will be represented by an alpine skier and a nordic coach.

Lindsay Ball of Benton has been selected for the team as a skier.Born visually impaired,she has been skiing since the age of six.She is Maine's only athlete on the 80-person team.

James Upham, a Farmington native, will coach the cross country ski and biathlon programs. Upham is one of six former Maine Winter Sports Center Coaches to have make it to the paralympics.
