BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Governor LePage will detail his plans for the "Open for Business Zones" Monday. The governor has already submitted the legislation that proposes to create incentives for businesses bringing jobs to Maine.

Governor LePage mentioned the plan in his State of the State address. The plan seeks to improve Maine's competitiveness and to attract more private investment. The proposal offers discounted electricity rates and tax benefits for businesses that meetthe requirements. To take advantage of the incentives,businesses must result in investments of more than $50 million and create at least 1,500 jobs.

The event takes place at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Maine Technology Institute in Brunswick.
