HERMON, Maine(NEWS CENTER) -- It happens once a year, Girl Scouts asking you to buy cookies. It's hard to resist them because these tasty treats satisfy your sweet tooth and it's for a good cause.

Last year, Girl Scouts statewide sold 1,033,776 boxes. Scout leaders said Thin Mints are the top selling cookie. Brownie Troop 1293 hope to help the Girl Scouts of Maine reach a higher goal this time around.

7-year-old, Abigayle Gray knows alleight assorted types of cookies by heart. Choosing her favorite was tough, yet she boiled it down to the round, mint-flavored cookie with the chocolaty coating.

"Thin Mints because they have mint inside and I like mint."

For every box Abigayle and her fellow Brownies sell, 0.75 cents go to the troop. The girls of Troop 1293 are trying to raise enough money to go to Boston for an overnight trip at the Museum of Science.
