PARIS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Paris Police Department is looking for the driver responsible for the death of a teenager in a hit-and-run in South Paris Saurday.

Police say 16-year-old Xavier Fuentes was walking along Route 117, or Buckfield Road, in South Paris around 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.

The driver fled the scene, and another driver found him along the road and called 9-1-1. He was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, where was pronounced dead.

The Paris Police Department is asking for the public's help in the investigation. They are looking for a vehicle large enought o hold a plow - either a truck or an SUV. They believe Xavier was struck by that plow.

That is the best description police have of the suspect's vehicle. They don't have any witnesses. They're hoping someone either saw the incident last night, or knows of a vehicle that has been damaged.

Xavier was in South Paris visiting his grandmother for the weekend. He was a student at Leavitt High School.

Police are waiting for results from accident reconstruction and an autopsy before releasing any more information about his death.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Paris Police Department at 743-7448. The family is offering a $1,000 dollar reward for any information.
