LEBANON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- On Saturday morning Madbury, New Hampshire Police received a report from a parent regarding his 18-year-old son who was missing from their Madbury home.

Later that day, Maine Police received a tip that a body was found along Long Swamp Rd. in Lebanon Saturday afternoon.

An autopsy was performed on that body Sunday at the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The cause of death was stab wounds, and police have ruled the death as homicide.

The body has not been positively identified as that of the missing 18-year-old, but it does appear the two are connected. A definitive identification of the male victim is expected within the next day or two.

This is an ongoing investigation and involves a collaborative effort between New Hampshire and Maine law enforcement.
