HOPE, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- There was a special fundraiser Saturday for the organization Hope Elephants.

Chad Hollister, a musician from Vermont, brought his family up to play for Rosie and Opal. The elephants are retired from the circus.

After finding sanctuary in the mountains of Maine, they've become the loving interest of the locals.

Officials say their organization is educational while rehabilitating the elephants from their long days in the circus. The elephants are becoming a rare sight. Dying at a very aggressive rate, they think the animals are on track for extinction within ten years.
