(NEWS CENTER) -- If you were having trouble with your Verizon Wireless service Friday night, you weren't alone.
The Biddeford Police Department said Friday that there is an issue with Verizon service in their area. Police warned it could impact 911 calls. Police suggested, in emergency situations, to use a landline to dial 911.
There are temporary fixes, according to Biddeford Police.
If you have an iPhone:
- Select "Settings"
- Select "General"
- Select "Reset"
- Select "Reset Network Settings"
- It will ask for a password, then the iPhone will shut down and restart.
If you have a flip phone:
- Dial *228
- Press "Option 1"
- Phone should start playing music and then reprogram.
