WINDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A child's aspirations in life can be pretty elaborate and often times out of reach. Astronaut, President of the United States, and Rock Star to name a few. 12-year-old Tyler Briggs is trying his hardest to make the Rock Star dream come true.

Tyler got his first drum set when he was just a one year old. It didn't take long for him to out grow that and his parents began investing in new sets almost every Christmas. Self taught from the beginning, he's already been offered some big opportunities. Tyler was invited to play in this years Old Port Fest at One City Center in Monument Square.

"I just try to feel what feels comfortable doing and it will lead you to the next part," said Tyler.

Tyler's success hasn't come without lots of hard work though. He practices everyday in the basement of his parents, Jim and Wendy Briggs, home. Even with the loud noise, the Windham couple couldn't be prouder of their son.

"He's very compassionate about it and he loves it and as a mom I'm so proud," said Wendy.

Tyler is the lead drummer for the band at his church, South Coast Community Church in Scarborough.
