(NEWS CENTER) -- Another governor's race poll will be released at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Ethan Strimling and Phil Harriman couldn't discuss the specific numbers, but said Governor LePage is in the lead, the first time since the two other candidates entered the race.
Democratic candidate Mike Michaud is second and Independent Elliot Cutler is third in the poll. It is still a two-way race between the two (Michaud and Gov. LePage), said Strimling.
Gov. LePage's office has criticized the past polls, saying the pollsters were "left-leaning."
"Patrick Murphy has a legacy in his polling and I think it will show he has done a better job," said Harriman.
"You'll see Republicans slam Patrick Murphy when he doesn't say what they want. But this poll actually has a lot of stuff in it that is interesting," said Strimling.
The poll asked about compromise. Democrats and Independents very strongly said they desire compromise in the poll. Republicans leaned toward having lawmakers stick to their ideology.
Strimling said the often Republican perspective that it is difficult to afford the current government size. He said Republicans see compromise as making it a little bit larger.
Harriman countered, saying the ideology of the Republican party has shifted in the last 10 years.
NEWS CENTER will provide the poll results as soon as they are available.
