Cold, eh? Despite the sunshine, we endured some down-to-the-bone COLD today, with highs only in the single numbers to low teens. Enough about today-I know you are likely looking for some "snow news," so here goes.
Low pressure to our west will merge with a low off to our south; the "new" low will then track northeast, and should be just south of New England by Friday night. That means we won't see any snow here in Eastern Maine until late Friday. The snow will be pretty intense Friday night into Saturday morning, with an increasing northeast wind creating blowing and drifting snow. By the time the snow ends mid-day Saturday, we see the following accumulations:
Along the coast: 14-20"
Bangor-Calais, Along Route 9 Area: 10-15"
Millinocket Region: 2-5"
So obviously, the closer you are to the coast-more now. More north? Less snow.
Sunshine will return Sunday, with temperatures ranging mostly in the 20's.
