Weather Notes:Sometimes it's very hard to stick with your guns and trust in the science of weather. Saturday is definitely one of those situations. We've got rain a mere 100 miles to the south this morning and yet? I'm still keeping the forecast dry until the late afternoon/evening. I think we have just enough dry air in place to erode the rain shield as it moves northward. The rain WILL eventually win out and precipitation will overspread the area from south to north this evening. Notice I use the word precipitation...it's beginning to look like interior areas may start as a mixture of snow and sleet before changing over to rain on Sunday. Past that time the higher elevations (1000 ft and above) may hang onto a mix and snow and as such may see several inches of accumulation. We will have to watch interior valleys in NH and ME for some extended mix even at "ground level." By Sunday afternoon the southern half of the state will be seeing periods of heavy rain with very gusty winds up to 50 MPH. Looks like the rain and wind will just barely graze Bangor and have almost no real impact north and west of Bangor. This whole mess will be out of hair by Monday noon or so. After that..back to spring weather for next week. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead tonight...or this morning if you are a party animal.
