BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — Emera Maine said Tuesday that it had safely restored service to nearly half of its customers affected by Monday morning's brutal wind storm.
That storm caused the most outages Emera has seen since the Ice Storm of 1998.
Within Emera's service districts, southern Penobscot and Hancock counties were particularly hard-hit, recording nearly 75 percent of total outages.
Emera provided the following estimated restoration times:
► WASHINGTON CO. - Almost all by 10 p.m. Tuesday
► AROOSTOOK CO. - Almost all by 10 p.m. Tuesday
► N. PENOBSCOT CO. & PISCATAQUIS CO. (Milo to Lincoln to Millinocket) - 90% by 10 p.m. Thursday, almost all Friday
► S. PENOBSCOT CO. (Greater Bangor, Orono/Old Town) - 90% by 10 p.m. Friday, almost all Saturday
► HANCOCK CO. - 90% by 10 p.m. Friday, almost all Saturday
